Standards
With the increasing sophistication of the web, websites need to work better, faster, more ubiquitously and more democratically. They also need to work with future software upgrades and other changes in the computing environment. The key to meeting all of these requirements is standards conformance. This implies conforming to:
- HTML (HyperText Markup Language) standards
- accessibility standards
- CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) standards
- scripting standards
Accessibility
Websites should be accessible to people suffering from visual or motor impairment, not only for reasons of inclusiveness but also because in the UK, it is a legal requirement. All new sites that we produce conform to Level 1 or higher of the WAI (Web Accessiblity Initiative) Guidelines. It is not an extra - it is an integral part of what we do.
